Instructions for Authors

Indian Journal of Drug Quality Assurance-IJDQA is a peer-reviewed open access journal published quarterly for original research articles, short communication as well as review articles related to all aspects of Drug Quality Assurance.  The primary aims of Indian Journal of Drug Quality Assurance is  to provide an international forum for quality assurance issues of concern to professionals in the pharmaceutical &  health  and to promote excellence in practice in these fields. Articles published to support these aims will therefore encompass: compliance with, and interpretation of, codes of conduct such as Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biomedical Analysis  & Herbal Drug analysis, GMP regulations and other guidelines, General Quality Management, Methodology and Principles, Impurity Profiling, Method development,  Method validation & Process Validation and any other issue related to Drug Quality Assurance 

 

IJDQA accepts research and review articles in the following disciplines:

·         Pharmaceutical Analysis,

·         Biomedical Analysis  & Herbal Drug analysis

·         GMP regulations and other guidelines; 

·         General Quality Management, Methodology and Principles

·         Impurity Profiling

·         Method development  Method validation & Process Validation;

·         Any other issue related to Drug Quality Assurance

 

 All manuscripts are subjected to rapid double-blind peer review process and those of high quality (which are not previously published and are not under consideration for publication by another journal) will be considered for publication

 

Preparing your Manuscript

All the articles intended for review and publication must be submitted in the following format only.

The manuscript shall be prepared in the following sections:

 

1.    Research Article

These articles should clearly describe new and carefully confirmed results and experimental procedure which should be given in detail to the maximum required extent, for any reader to verify the work.The article can be up to 2500 words excluding references and abstract.

For proper referring and fast publication, the authors should ensure that their manuscript is grammatically correct. British English or US English is acceptable.

The manuscript should be prepared in English using MS Word with 2cm margin on all sides (Top, Bottom, Left and Right side) of the page. Times New Roman font should be used. The font size should be of 12pt but main subheadings may be of 14pt.

Use italic for plant and microorganism names

All research article should be typed double spaced and should have the following sections: Title page, Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if any) and References.

Title Page:

The type of article (Research or Review) along with the title must be mentioned.

Title page should contain title of the paper in bold face, title case (font size 14), names of the authors in normal face, upper case (font size 12) followed by the address(es) in normal face lower case.

An asterisk (*) must be placed after the corresponding authors name as superscript whose email id, fax, telephone number can be given at the bottom left corner of the title.

It is the sole responsibility of the Corresponding author to ensure that all coauthors are aware and have approved each and every part/content of the submitted manuscript.

Abstract Page

This section should start on a new page and should detail the problems, experimental approach, major findings and conclusion in one paragraph and should appear on the second page. Avoid abbreviation, diagram and references in the abstract. It should be single–spaced and should not exceed 150 words.

Keywords

Author(s) must give about 4-5 key words which can identify the most important subjects covered by the paper. They must be placed at the end of the abstract.

Introduction

The manuscript should include a brief introduction stating the purpose of the investigation and relating the manuscript to similar previous research. Only information essential to the arguments should be presented.

Materials and Methods

This section must contain duly cited specific details about the materials studied, instruments used, source of specialized chemicals (if any) and related experimental details which, in turn, allow other researchers to reproduce the results with appropriate citation. Obtain permission for all fully borrowed, adapted, and modified tables and provide a credit line in the footnote.

Results and Discussions

The results should be concisely presented. Results and discussion may be separate or combined based on the authors’ requirement. Tables and figures should be designed to maximize the comprehension of the experimental data.

The interpreted results should be explained clearly in discussions and should relate them to the existing knowledge in the field as clearly as possible. Tables, Graphs and figures (Illustrations) should be inserted in to the main text at respective place they should appear when published and should have appropriate numbers and titles with an explanatory heading.

The table, graph and figures heading may have smaller font titles but should not be less than 10 pt in size. Labels of the table, graph and figures MUST be in the text form and should not form part of the image.

Color photographs and illustrations (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs etc) must be clean originals or digital files. Those photographs must be clear and sharp. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow the following guidelines:

300dpi or higher sized to fit journal page

b.    Preferred formats: JPG, PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIF.

Conclusion

Manuscript should have relevant brief conclusion (limit of 300) and should reflect the importance and future scope.

Acknowledgements

This section should be positioned at the end of the manuscript before reference section and should not be more than 50 words. Under this section, the authors should duly acknowledge the help of those who do not qualify for authorship or to acknowledge funding, donated resources or significant contribution to the research.

References

References to the literature cited for the manuscript should be numbered in order of appearance in the manuscript and cited in the text with superscript numbers. The reference number should follow the following format.

2.  Important Note

The authors should mention the undertaking that all animal studies were carried in accordance with their country or institutional ethical committee guidelines.

The authors shall also state that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere (except in the form of a poster abstract (in conferences/seminars) or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis).

 

3.  Review Article

Organization of the review article is at the author’s discretion and must be at a length of 3000 words excluding references and abstract. Abstract and key words are required. Tables, figures, illustrations and references are to be arranged in relevance and according to the content of the paper.

 

4.  Copyright

It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to this journal have not been published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden, and by submitting the article for publication the authors agree that the publishers have the legal right to take appropriate action against the authors, if plagiarism or fabricated information is discovered. By submitting a manuscript the authors agree that the copyright of their article is transferred to the publishers if and when the article is accepted for publication. Once submitted to the journal, the author will not withdraw their manuscript at any stage prior to publication.

Submission of the manuscript represent that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not considered for publication elsewhere. Authors would be required to sign a CTA form (Copy Right Transfer Agreement) once the manuscript is accepted. This form shall be emailed the corresponding author’s email ID. The corresponding author, after getting the authors’ and coauthors’ signature(s), shall mail the same as an attachment file by email initially to the info@pharmaresearch.in

 

5. Ethical Matters

Authors involving in the usage of experimental animals and human subjects in their research and interested in publishing such research articles should seek approval from the appropriate Ethical committee in accordance with “Principles of Laboratory Animal Care”. The Method section of the manuscript should include a statement to prove that the investigation was approved and that informed consent was obtained.

 

6.  Galley Proofs

Galley proofs would be sent unless indicated otherwise to the corresponding author. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that the corrected (if any corrections) galley proof is returned at the earliest to ensure rapid publication. The authors are solely responsible for the contents that appear in their published manuscripts
